Rowe Labor Day Presents: Flow and Flair: A Flag Dance Experience

This class is committed to turning “I can’t” into “I can” and is for all ages and abilities.

Flag dance is derived from the “spin arts” and the Flow and Flair mini-flag is the tool of expression for people who feel they can’t dance or move or who are a bit introverted. Online, Flow and Flair has been able to work around the mini-flag by encouraging participants at home to find an article of fabric (washcloth, handkerchief) as a substitute until we are up and running to retail the Flow and Flair mini-flag online. Before Covid, Flow and Flair was impacting the senior, lgbtqia and disabilities communities in USA and India.

Participants learn flag basics, are warmed up to move and the class then create moves with the mini-flag and we work together to build a dance. Flow and Flair stimulates a person’s creativity and engages the body in dance so that the participant is really releasing and being fully self-expressed!

We end with a meditative singing cool down and the participants are left feeling alive, excited and happy.

Not one flag dance is the same because Flow and Flair facilitates community building, creativity, and inclusivity. With 6 years of experience, we guarantee an hour of escape and connection.
