Junior High Camp Virtual Campfire

As you may already know, camp will not be happening in-person at Rowe this year because of COVID-19. While this is a huge disappointment for us camp co-directors, we will be running a Virtual Camp. The Virtual Campfire Chat will be part check in, part Q&A about what virtual camp will look like this summer. We are eager to hear any ideas you might have for online workshops and activities, what you hope to get out of an online Rowe experience, and some of the challenges you foresee with an online format. We’re excited to hear from all of you!

Chelsea Rose started off as a little Young People’s camper in 2000, attending camp every summer until her last year as a Senior High camper in 2010. She also worked on Junior High Camp staff from 2008-2014. Chelsea graduated from Hampshire College with a Bachelor’s Degree in education, theater, and arts integration and has put that to use as a teaching artist, paraprofessional, and after school administrator in a Brooklyn homeless shelter. Having directed other camps in New York City, she is excited to bring what she’s learned back to her home away from home. With everything she takes on, Chelsea promises to be responsible, compassionate, and playful!

Robyn Ralli came to Rowe as both a T-Camp and Senior High Camper before transitioning to working on staff. Over the past 9 years she has worked in the Rowe kitchen, at YPC, Junior High Camp, Senior High Camp, and Skill Set, growing into different roles each summer. She is excited to step into this new role at Junior High Camp and continue Rowe’s tradition of youth empowerment through making choices, deep listening, and hanging out. Robyn graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a concentration in child development and art, both of which she now uses every day working with young children in New York City.
