Senior High Camp Virtual Campfire
As you may already know, camp will not be happening in-person at Rowe this year because of COVID-19. While this is a huge disappointment for us camp co-directors, we will be running a Virtual Camp. The Virtual Campfire Chat will be part check in, part Q&A about what virtual camp will look like this summer. We are eager to hear any ideas you might have for online workshops and activities, what you hope to get out of an online Rowe experience, and some of the challenges you foresee with an online format. We’re excited to hear from all of you!
Chaz Schneider started at Rowe’s Junior High Camp in 2006 and instantly fell in love with every aspect of Rowe. As a young person and camper, Chaz had some of the most meaningful and developmental experiences of his life at Rowe, which led him to want to be involved with making the magic happen for others too. He began working at Senior High Camp in 2014 and has been back every summer since, serving as Co-Director for Senior High Camp since summer 2019. Chaz is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work and otherwise thoroughly enjoys puzzles, pizza and ping-pong.
Jenn Bufithis-Hurie started going to Rowe as a camper at Junior High Camp in 2003 and continued coming back for three more summers at Senior High Camp. She learned so much at Rowe as a teen and wanted to help be part of the leadership team in this intentional community. For this reason, Jenn came back to be on staff in 2010 and has worked on full-time program staff or guest staff at both JHC and SHC since. Since graduating from Beloit College in WI with a BA in Psychology, she’s been living in Boston doing youth development work primarily with underserved families and communities.
