Mirabai Starr, internationally known for her teachings on the mystics, contemplative practice, and the transformational power of grief, translated Teresa of Avila’s spiritual classic The Interior Castle and wrote Wild Mercy: Living the Fierce and Tender Wisdom of the Women Mystics; Mother of God Similar to Fire; a translation of Julian of Norwich; and other books. In her acclaimed translations of the mystics, Mirabai uses fresh, lyrical language to help make timeless wisdom accessible. She was an adjunct professor of Philosophy and World Religions at the University of New Mexico–Taos for 20 years and continues to teach widely.
